Makati Mall bombing kills 8, injures 70

An explosion at the Glorietta 2 shopping complex in Makati, Philippines, killed eight people and injured as many as 70 others. I've been there on many occasions. I'm not given to worry about that kind of thing too much, but I'm always more aware in the Philippines of this kind of thing. Police haven't determined if it is terrorism related, but I'll go out on a limb and say probably. This is a sad situation. More bad news for the PI.

It is sad. I can't believe that I've never been to NYC, Boston, Miami, Dallas or Detroit but I've now been inside two buildings abroad that have been attacked by terrorists, the old S.C. in Bali included.
A ferry, buses, now this.....looks like the Phil. terrorist acts are still against the Phils. itself rather than against foreign interests. Why a mall loaded with local women and kids rather than a P.Burgos or Malate nightclub that would be loaded with foreigners?

i think one reason is that they're fighting a civil war against the rich filipinos, not the foreigners.
