Casino Act Copy

The Commonwealth Election Commission can send by email a copy of the Saipan Casino Act to anyone interested in reading up on the act as certified by the Office of the Attorney General.

The Commission is presently housed at the multipurpose center and is operating on dial-up, analog internet access. So, all requests will be entertained either early in the morning or early evenings when it can be forwarded by dsl.

Also available are the two (15-1 and 15-16, SD1) initiatives for anyone who requests them. The group is working on the Rota Casino Act of 2007.

You can get my take on the specifics of the act at my blog. It's a ridiculous act.. and this is coming from a pro-casino person!

I find it funny how proponents of the Casino Act will not speak on specific passages in the act. It's all generalization about how a casino will improve the economy or we should just give it a chance. There is some outrageous language in the act and I'd really like to hear one of those supporting this to speak on these specific issues, i.e. - the ability of NMDIC to draw on government funds as it needs for operations, the ability of the NMDIC to select any public land it wants, etc.
