Douchebag of the century title awarded

The century might be young, but I have a feeling that Supreme Court Injustice Antonin Scalia can retain the title for the next 92 years of "Douchebag of the Century." This guy was the ringleader who installed the worst president in U.S. history against the will of the voters, but we should "get over it." You don't need to go to Yale Law School to know that "halting" the recount is an affront to justice. And when all the Republican appointees, including some appointed by the installed's father do the dirty work on a direct party vote, the rest of us in the sane world are supposed to act like this wasn't the biggest disgrace since the Dred Scott decision.
Scalia repeated his earlier statement that people should "get over" the court's
ruling in 2000 that halted Florida's vote recount, giving the presidential
election to Republican Bush over Democrat Al Gore. "I say nonsense," Scalia
said, when asked about critics who say the 5-4 ruling was based on politics and
not justice. "Get over it. It's so old by now."

Are you kidding me? You're little one is a week old, and all you can write about is Scalia? Your readership wants to hear about how fatherhood is treating you...

If I focus on baby stuff, the only one who will read this blog is my mom.

I'm going to try as best I can to adhere to the Stanhope maxim:

"People's poems are like their babies. They're beautiful...to their creator. To everyone else they're silly and irritating."

My irritation comes from the fact that the jack#$$ president got elected the second time around!! The heck...?! Can't really blame Scalia for that...or can we?

There were some questions in Ohio, but I'll concede the second one wasn't the complete sham the first one was. It was pretty obvious this guy was a disaster and the fact that he won that election is a national embarassment the world will never completely recover from.

Hmmn, and I was just going to blog about the baby. Everything in moderation, including moderation. Personally, I would much rather read about cute babies than politics. Little Ashley will most certainly outlive W and his spawn and thank the lord for that. Funny to think about the possibilities. Well known rancotouer Alexander Bateman and Governor Ashley Turbit were married at our lady of ... today. Hey, if the Sox can win the world series, anything is possible. Here's a handy line for when the boys come calling. "I've got a forty-five and shovel son, no one will miss you"

Oh we'll have plenty more chances to be embarrased by elected leaders, Jeff, never fear. We are quickly winging our way to a back-to-back Obama/Clinton ticket that will not only ultimately embarass us worldwide but will rape, rob and pilage our pockets at home to finance their grandiose social welfare schemes and line the pockets of themselves and their supporters.

If not that pair, then pick just about any pair of standard issue Republicrats. The results will be the same. Plenty embarassment to go around, as they say.

So if gore had been elected in 2000 we would have spent the same Trillions, but on freezing seawater in big government funded ice trays to stave off his global warming dementia, instead of on destabilizing the worlds biggest oil producing region to artificaially inflate the price of crude. The trillions are still gone. Stolen from those who produced them.

Keep the money out of their hands. Any of them, all of them. Whenever possible.

They may all be the same Bruce, but Bush Baby and his pop have bankrupted this country for generations.

Count to a trillion. Nine times.

Jeff said...

And what the money is spent on makes it worse. 3 trillion on destruction and international contempt and a worse situation in Iraq could have been used to vastly improve healthcare, education and national defense here, such as actually inspecting the cargo that enters this country.

I'll tuck this one away for future reference. I'm doing okay so far. You'd be surprised at how many 12 adn13 yo girls are dating. The latest news was about one of dd's friends who is now the "girlfriend" of an 18 yo boy. OTO, my dd age 13 has complained that I'm ruining her social life.

Damn straight.

Sorry. Douchebag of the Century goes to those who voted Bush in for a second term. ABB. Anyone But Bush. May God save the United States. We have learned Bush certainly can't.

I voted for President Bush, and Justice Scalia is a great justice.

God hasn't been doing much of a job either, Ed. Maybe you should switch brands.

Why does that not surprise me Mike.

Normally, I would jump on the fact that you ended a question with a period and blame the democratic-teachers-union-controlled public school system.

BUT, you have a new baby, and it's a miracle you have the energy to read, let alone blog.

Enjoy your daughter. Plenty of time for political sparring when you have your A game back.

(And I bet you could name my other favorites.....)

The secretive, power-hungry, human-rights-violating dork couldn't have been reelected if hadn't been installed in the first place.

Ohio's Secretary of State in 2004 was a least as dirty as Katherine Harris (only better at it); there were problems in Ohio in 2004. This is per my late, politically active father, who was alive, well, and living in Cincinnati at the time.

Ralph Nader did not help. Indeed, he said before the 2000 election it would be good for America to elect a Republican so things would get bad enough to wake the public up.

For my last word, I'll quote kap: "... bankrupted [America] for generations. Count to a trillion. Nine times."
